Each trimester is 60 days with emphasis on the 8 principles of design - balance, emphasis, harmony, movement, proportion, rhythm, variety and unity. 8th grade students attend art exploratory as a block of two periods for 30 days. The emphasis in 8th grade is on the study of aesthetics using the 4 steps applied in both art criticism and art history - describing, analyzing, interpreting and judging.
